The Countdown Begins

With just over two weeks remaining until Urban Art 2026, anticipation is building among artists, organisers and visitors alike. Across London and beyond, exhibitors are putting the finishing touches to work that will soon be displayed along Josephine Avenue.

Preparing for an event of this scale takes months of planning. Artists spend countless hours creating new work, selecting pieces for display, arranging framing and considering how best to present their collections. For many, Urban Art represents one of the highlights of their exhibition calendar.

Visitors often only see the finished result, but behind every artwork lies a considerable amount of preparation. Paintings are completed, photographs are printed, frames are assembled and displays are carefully planned. The weeks leading up to the event are among the busiest of the year for many exhibitors.

Organisers are equally busy behind the scenes. From coordinating exhibitors and volunteers to managing logistics and publicity, a great deal of work goes into ensuring that everything runs smoothly over the weekend.

One of the most exciting aspects of Urban Art is that many artists create new work specifically for the event. This means visitors will have the opportunity to see pieces that have never been exhibited before and perhaps discover entirely new directions in artists’ work.

The countdown has truly begun. In just a few short weeks, Josephine Avenue will once again become one of London’s largest and most vibrant outdoor galleries.
