Art in the heart of Brixton

Urban Art 2025 takes over Josephine Avenue in Brixton, London SW2 on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th July, transforming the leafy street into a bustling outdoor art fair. Now in its 22nd year, this much-loved community event offers visitors the chance to discover and buy original art directly from the artists, with over 120 exhibitors showcasing painting, printmaking, photography, and mixed media. Entry is free from 10am to 6pm each day, with a percentage of sales supporting local good causes.

Featured Artists:

Kenzo Fry brings bold, contemporary portraiture to the avenue, often combining striking colour palettes with urban textures and layered stencils.

Thomas Gale presents landscape-inspired works with a modern twist—evocative, often dreamlike scenes blending realism with abstract forms.

Louise Galizia offers mixed media compositions, weaving together paint, texture, and found objects in pieces that explore memory and emotion.

Stefen Gappy showcases graphic, design-led paintings, full of clean lines and subtle narratives, often echoing mid-century aesthetics.

Charlotte Gerrard is known for vibrant animal portraits—particularly her iconic cows and elephants—filled with warmth, character, and colour.

Martin Grover brings a mix of painting and screenprint, often referencing South London bus stops, jukeboxes, and classic soul music with a nostalgic touch.

Tommy Gurr specialises in urban pop art, blending military iconography and political motifs with bold visual statements.

Jim Hanlon offers expressive, often humorous figurative work, capturing everyday people and city life with charm, wit, and loose brushwork.
